FAQ

What people ask us most

When can I try it?

We're opening the Xerra demo in small groups, in sign-up order. Sign up with the demo form (name, company and email; your website is optional) or just leave your email in the box at the bottom of the page. When your group's turn comes, we'll write to you and set it up with you, on your real website.

Does the demo cost anything?

No. During the Xerra demo you pay nothing, with no card and no commitment. Prices aren't public yet: before the demo ends we'll explain how to continue and what it will cost, and you decide whether to carry on. In the meantime, the assistant works on your real website.

Does it make answers up?

No. Xerra only answers with what's on your website and in the documents you add, and every answer links to its source so visitors can check it. When it can't find the answer, it says so clearly instead of guessing, and it can alert a person on your team to carry on the conversation.

Which languages does it work in?

Xerra works in Catalan, Spanish and English, and answers in the visitor's language. The chat texts (the welcome, the button and the FAQs) can be written in each language. On WordPress, the plugin follows the language WPML or Polylang sets; the Drupal module reads each translation and the Joomla one each article's language tag; PrestaShop and Magento send the shop's default language.

What do you do with my website's data?

The assistant only reads your website's pages and the documents you add, and only uses them to answer your visitors. You can exclude pages and delete any source whenever you like. We process data in line with the GDPR; the details are in the privacy policy.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. With the Xerra Chat plugin for WordPress, PrestaShop, Magento, Drupal or Joomla, you install it like any other module, press “Connect with Xerra”, log in and pick the assistant. On any other website, you paste one line of code we give you. From then on, the chat appears on your site and re-reads it on its own.

Which websites does it work with?

With WordPress (including WooCommerce), PrestaShop, Magento, Drupal and Joomla, through the Xerra Chat plugin, which connects in one click and re-reads your site whenever you change something. On any other website, it works by pasting one line of code. The Shopify connection is coming soon, from the platform.

Can I add documents?

Yes. As well as your website's pages, you can add PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, Markdown and HTML documents of up to 50 MB each, and write questions with their answers. The assistant reads them like the rest of your content and, when it answers from a document, cites it as the source.

Can visitors talk to a person?

Yes. When the assistant can't help, the visitor asks or the topic is sensitive, Xerra alerts your team on the platform and by email. Anyone can take over the conversation live from the platform, and the assistant stays quiet while they do. In the plugins, the chat also offers contact buttons: WhatsApp, phone, email or your contact page.

Does it learn from conversations?

Yes. Visitors rate each answer as “Helpful” or “Didn't help”. In Training you review the ones that didn't help, correct them, and they become verified knowledge the assistant uses from then on. If you prefer, well-rated answers are learned automatically. You always have the last word on what it says.
